Ensuring Student Voice Always Gets Heard
Low-tech and no-tech ways to run the Behavioral Health Screener when the Wi-Fi, the devices or the logins don't cooperate. Print what you need, share the backup link, and keep the session going.
The Kit
Print a class set of planning sheets before your screening window opens. Then you're ready no matter what breaks.
For Teachers
For Students
The Backup Link
Our own recorder, so there's no VideoAsk account to manage. Students watch Rachel ask each question, answer by voice, typing or a photo of their paper, then review and submit.
What Broke?
Start every plan the same way. Hand out planning sheets so students start thinking right away.
The Questions
Same wording students see on the platform. Open any question to walk through exactly what students do: Rachel asks, they answer. Nothing you record here is saved.
Grades 3–12 6 questions
TK–2 3 questions
Run It
Before the window
Print a class set of planning sheets and one QR poster. Make your class link and bookmark it on every device you'll use.
Test the link once
Record a ten-second test on each classroom device, so camera and microphone permissions are already granted on screening day.
Day of, first two minutes
If something breaks, don't cancel. Hand out planning sheets, play question one, then pick your plan from What Broke?
Log every backup
One row per student on the tracking log. We use it to match backup answers to the right student.
Same day, send the log
Send the tracking log, plus any paper answers you didn't photograph, to your Impacter Pathway site lead.
If a student shares something that worries you
Follow your school's usual protocol right away. The backup kit doesn't change that.
